Tammy - page #2'Oh look' says Linda, 'she's found skunk!' Skunk, what is skunk - something alive, it doesn't smell alive, it doesn't move - must be dead. I carefully pick it up in my mouth - h'mmm all furry and soft, ohh and it squeaked again. I bite it hard - sqeak, sqeeeak. Seems interesting so I put it into a corner to investigate later. I hear Linda calling the tall man Alex and saying to close the metal door. Jane bends down towards me and says goodbye Tammy - you be a very good girl for your new family. I'm always 'a good girl' so thats nothing new. I like my little house, very cosy. Alex closes the metal door and quite quickly I feel a slight vibration and we seem to rolling a bit from side to side - very soothing and I can't keep my eyes open....... the door opens and there is Alex looking down at me. I can see you've been fast asleep. He says. You had better come for a short walk'. A walk ! oh dear I'm still dreaming, but then I notice a strange waddling thing walk slowly past, about my size. What is it? Linda's voice comes from behind me – 'there are lots of ducks here today – they're so pretty' So that’s what the waddling things are – ducks. I had better get up and see what is going on. I need to have a wee too. I remember Faith telling me not to wee in my house because it smells and I do try to wee somewhere else. I had better be quick, otherwise … oh dear, an accident. Alex looks in my house again and says ' Tammy has had an accident and Linda says ' never mind , I brought several towels just in case' Alex gently picks me up and puts me down on the grass which feels nice under my paws. I can count 3 ducks all looking my way and one makes a silly sounding noise ' quaaack'. I try to make that sound – I can't, but I can smell them, h'mmm quite strong, not sure I like it. I think I'll stay close to Alex. The ducks don't look very fierce so I'm probably safe enough. Back in my house and moving again and that gentle swaying motion puts me straight to sleep. No time at all and I'm woken by different sounds – smells too. I can't stop my nose twitching. I can hear Alex talking to Linda – "I'll take Tammy up to the house first, then come back for the other things". I didn't know Alex could pick my house up but he does and I can see out the door lots of green grass and some trees. Linda calls " perhaps she would like to run on the grass". What a good idea – yes, I would. Alex puts my house down on the grass and opens the door – I carefully look out. Nothing to worry about so I take my first walk on the grass of my new home. It feels good. I see Linda sitting on the grass so I go to her and give her paw a lick. I think she likes it because she rubs my back. Stretching out on the cool grass after the ride in the car makes me feel like running around and rolling over and over but I don't want to seem an idiot in front of my new family, then I see Alex lying on the grass so I think a bit of running and rolling is probably OK. After all that exercise I am having a long snooze - actually a bit longer than I thought. More adventures coming soon. |
